Wecome To our Jeeping Page

I just started this 4/2/01 Give me a couple of days to get it set up.

Now I have to go find my Jeeping pictures !

I built this CJ3B in 1971. Started with what was left of my 1971 CJ5 which was rolled 600' down a hill climb in Port Angles, WA. I used a cab-over pickup frame giving me full 4" frame horns and a factory boxed frame with strapping top & bottom. I reused the Buick 225ci V6 that came in the 1971 CJ5. I installed a Ford 10-bolt top-loader 4 speed tranny and modified it to a top shift stick. The "rear end", "front-end" and "transfer case" are stock 1971 CJ5. (All the gears & bearings have been replaced a few times) The body is a fiberglass Bobcat. Power steering was added when I built it. This Jeep has a power take off Braden winch that holds about 150’ of 5/16" cable. I have many different sets of tires for it and just depends on what I’m doing as to what you will see on it. In this picture, they are the old (ATCO) for... Armstrong Tire Company. The role bars are 2" tubing bolted to the frame. Seats are stock 1971 Jeep seats.

I have owned a Jeep since 1966. We both like the 4.88 gear ratio.

Kirk built his 1945 Flat Fender (CJ2A now) before he had his driver’s license. He started with a CJ5 frame and a body off an old mail carrier jeep. At this time he is running a Buick 225ci V6 and a Ford 10 bolt tranny, modified to top shift like mine. His running gear is homebrew 44 open nuckle front with disk brakes and homebrew 44 rear with disk brakes. (Both ends locked up) Power Steering of course. He has a Ramsey power take off winch with 150’ of cable. You will be able to see his Jeep in stages in the Jeep picture album when I add them. Kirk did all the work on his rig himself !

If anyone needs to convert a 4 cylinder "L Head" starter to 12 Volt Call Mac at...

Mac's Jeeparts
33298 SE Peoria Rd.
Corvallis, OR 97333-2545

541-738-7121

I converted a 1947 "L head" to 12 volt for a guy & used one of his starters.

It was a slick conversion. He can now start it with a key instead of the old kick down. Mac is doing a great job on these starters!

Father Son Run 2007

Jess Lawson thought up having a Father Son Run this summer. Kirk & Jess talked it over and somehow came up with August 18th as the date. They left it up to the "Old Farts" as to where to go. Jim Auckland, Tom Lawson and Mike Reid figured out to camp at "Riders Camp" and make some runs out of there over the weekend. Jim, Tom & Mike Jeeped a lot together in the "Old Days".

So we all met at camp...

Jim Auckland & Son Ken in Jim's CJ3B...

Tom Lawson & Son Joseph in Tom's CJ3B...

Jess Lawson in his CJ2A...

Kirk Reid & Sons Austin & Cole with Kirk & Cole in Kirk's Wrangler Sport TJ...

Mike Reid and Grandson Austin in Mike's CJ3B.

Saturday we ran from Riders Camp up FW307 to Tripod Flats and then to the ridge. Took trail 694 over to Funny Rocks and then on out to Fence and the Barber Springs road. Down to South fork Manashtash and back to Riders Camp.

Sunday we ran from Riders Camp up FW311 to the top road and over to Tamarack Springs by our old Elk Camp. We then ran the road back to FW311 and ran it out the Divide trail and back down to Buck Meadows and Riders Camp.

Great time had by all and talked about doing it again!

Did you notice... three CJ3B Jeeps on this run !!!!!!

Mike took some camp pictures and more will be emailed in to me.

Look here for our pics and check back for additions.

By the way... Austin is doing a great job driving Pa's High Hood !!!!!
