1943 MB Auxiliary Light that plugs into trailer light socket for easy removal.
Remove one lug nut and unplug trailer plug & the light is removed for showing.
I knew I would have to make some sort of auxiliary light to keep from being rear-ended in the heavy & distracted traffic in the Seattle area. I also wanted my service brake lights to come on "any time" I stepped on the brake. To do this I moved the feed wire for the brake light switch to the breaker (hot all the time) on the push pull light switch. I also jumpered all the service brake lights together. Now when I step on the brake, I have brake lights even if I forget to put the switch in the right position. All other lights work like they should in the stock positions. The BO stop light works like normal. Nothing about the switch its self is modified. All other wiring is also normal.
I wanted the auxiliary light to be easy to remove and decided to mount it under one lug nut. The cable for it just plugs into the trailer socket where it picks up tail, stop light power & ground. What I used for the bracket is two light/license plate brackets. The top one cut off, modified and bent to space everything out to clear the tire. They both bolt together at the two 1/4" studs on the light.
Here are pictures of it. I had to use a spare plate for fitting as I don't have mine yet.
